Following their composition work on director’s David Gordon Green’s upcoming fim Prince Avalanche, Explosions in the Sky and David Wingo have revealed that they spend of the end of the year working on the score to Green’s follow-up film Manglehorn. Beginning production this fall, the upcoming motion picture will star Al Pacino as A.J. Manglehorn, an “eccentric man who tries to come to terms with a past crime that cost him the love of his life.”
Explosions in the Sky are scheduled to start pre-production work for the new score this summer before going on tour opening for Nine Inch Nails. Following their work on the soundtrack, the band has made plans to return to the studio to record the follow-up to their 2011 album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, aiming for an early 2014 release.
