Father John Misty and The Haxan Cloak Remix “Things It Would Have Been Helpful To Know…”
Ominous New Mix Accompanied by Visual Featuring Riots and Other Signs of the End of the World
Aug 31, 2017 Father John Misty
Father John Misty (aka Josh Tillman) has shared a new remix of “Things It Would Have Been Helpful To Know Before The Revolution,” a song from Pure Comedy (released back in April via Sub Pop and Under the Radar‘s #1 Album of 2017 So Far) about how yuppies would deal with the aftermath of a true revolution. For the remix he has partnered with The Haxan Cloak (aka British producer and musician Bobby Krlic). As a press release points out, “the rework strips the song of its lush instrumentation and glib tone.” The remix makes the song much more ominous, especially when heard with the accompanying visual that includes stock footage of melting icecaps, riots, and animal attacks, juxtaposed with millennials partying at music festivals. Check it out below.
On September 12 Father John Misty will perform “Things It Would Have Been Helpful To Know Before The Revolution” on Late Night with Seth Meyers and he will also be interviewed on the show.
Tillman recently said he was almost done with his next album and that it would be due out in 2018.
Father John Misty appeared on the cover of Under the Radar‘s recent Spring 2017 Issue.
