Father John Misty (real name Josh Tillman) has shared another new song to his Soundcloud, entitled “Real Love Baby.” Unlike the new song he shared on Tuesday, “Prius Commercial Demo 1,” which was likely a joke, this one could be a serious new Father John Misty song. Listen below and judge for yourself. On the Soundcloud page for the song Tillman has simply written “why not” and who knows exactly what he means by that. This comes after Tillman also recently shared lyrics he wrote to go with the instrumental theme song for the Netflix political drama House of Cards.
Father John Misty’s excellent February 2015-released sophomore album, I Love You, Honeybear, was Under the Radar’s #1 album of 2015. Consequently, Father John Misty was on the cover of our Best of 2015 print issue and you can read that cover story here. Also read our earlier 2015 print article on Father John Misty and our earlier 2015 bonus Q&A with Tillman (also read our 2012 interview with him).
