Despite her recent run-in with the law Fiona Apple has still qualified herself for having a great year thanks to her excellent new album The Idler Wheel… Boosting her resume even further is word that Apple will contribute a new song for director Judd Apatow’s upcoming mid-life crisis comedy “This Is 40” starring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. Though Apple has had her songs featured in movie soundtracks before (1998’s “Pleasantville” and last year’s “Bridesmaids”), the new track “Dull Tool,” will be her first original piece for a film. “This Is 40” arrives in theaters on Dec. 21.
