Over the weekend Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold posted a cover of The Five Keys’ “Out of Sight, Out of Mind.” It was posted to Pecknold’s Soundcloud account and then when linked to from Fleet Foxes’ Facebook page the post read: “Happy holidays - here’s a cover. Thanks to Gabe Wax for engineering.” The track features Neal Morgan on percussion, who collaborated with Pecknold on the score for the off-Broadway play Wyoming, which premiered back in January. It’s been a long four-and-a-half years since Fleet Foxes’ last album, 2011’s sophomore effort Helplessness Blues. Pecknold has since been busy getting his undergraduate degree at Columbia University, but it would be nice if this cover meant that new Fleet Foxes music was on the way soon. Listen to the cover below.
