Fleet Foxes Say New Album is “Alllllmost done,” Announce First Show in Five Years

All signs are pointing to us likely getting a new Fleet Foxes album in 2017. Frontman Robin Pecknold has previously said as much and now the band has said that the follow-up to 2011’s sophomore effort, Helplessness Blues, is “Alllllmost done.” The band updated their Facebook cover photo with an old photograph by Hiroshi Hamaya entitled “Eruption at Mount Tokachi, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, 1962.” In the comments a fan understandably asked if a new album was coming, to which the band replied with “Alllllmost done.” Then the band’s first show in five years has been announced. As Binaural reports, it’s a festival date at Spain’s Bilbao BBK Festival, which happens July 6 - 8, 2017. It was announced on a Spanish radio station and Depeche Mode is the only other band also confirmed for the festival. Pecknold confirmed the news in the comments section of an Instagram post, saying he “can’t wait.”
