Flight of the Conchords, everyone’s favorite New Zealand-hailing Grammy-winning musical comedy duo with a show on HBO, have revealed that they will have three songs in a future version of the video game Rock Band. The duo was interviewed by the TV Guide Channel on the red carpet at past Sunday’s Emmy Awards (view the video here) when Bret McKenzie revealed that three of their songs were bound for game play. “There’s going to be three songs on Rock Band,” he said. “You’ll be able to look like The Beatles and play one of our songs.” McKenzie didn’t reveal which three songs would be featured or when that version of Rock Band would be released.
Flight of the Conchords’ HBO show was nominated for six Emmy Awards (including one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Jemaine Clement), but the duo alas left the ceremony empty-handed. The second season of Flight of the Conchords is out now on DVD and the duo’s second album, I Told You I Was Freaky, is due out on Sub Pop on October 20th.
