Pay Tribute to Amy Winehouse
Dec 20, 2011
Florence and the Machine
Last night the televised concert series VH1 Divas aired a special performance of music honoring the impact of soul music on modern artists. With The Roots serving at the event’s house band the evening featured names such as Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, and Jennifer Hudson. Some of the night’s best highlights however, came from the likes of artists Florence Welch and Sharon Jones. Aside from singing her own Ceremonials single “Shake It Out,” Welch performed a cover of Annie Lennox’s “Walking On Broken Glass,” going on to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse later in the night with a rendition of “Back to Black.” Jones also honored Winehouse alongside Wanda Jackson with a cover of “You Know I’m No Good.” You can watch the entire show here, and as as Welch and Jones’ performances below.
