Foster the People Announce New Album, “Supermodel”

Foster the People
Foster the People have announced the upcoming release of their sophomore album, Supermodel. The follow-up to the trio’s breakthrough 2011 debut Torches, which catapulted to mainstream success on the back of their hit single “Pumped Up Kicks,” the new LP is scheduled to come out March 18 on Columbia.
Recording for Supermodel began with frontman Mark Foster and producer Paul Epworth setting up shop in a studio in Essaouira, Morocco at the end of 2012. “We didn’t have any rules,” says Foster in a press release. “We just created as much as we could in seven days. And in the spirit of wanderlust and discovery we ended up stumbling on the musical identity of what this record was going to feel like.” Brining in the rest of the band for the remainder of the sessions the band put in time in L.A. and Epworth’s Wolf Tone Studios in London.
In anticipation of the new record the band has shared the effort’s first single “Coming of Age,” paired with a visual that sees the album’s artwork transformed into one of the largest outddoor murals in the United States. Click below to watch and listen.
