Frankie Cosmos, the project of Greta Kline, along with her backing band, released their new album Next Thing, back in April via Bayonet Records. Now Kline has announced a limited edition covers cassette tape simply entitled Covers and shared a cover of “Fresh Pond” by the late Boston band Krill (it was found on their 2014 EP Steve Hears Pile in Malden and Bursts Into Tears). The tape will first be available on November 13 at Frankie Cosmos’ concert at New York’s Webster Hall. Listen to the cover below, followed by the cassette’s tracklist and cover art and Frankie Cosmos’ upcoming tour dates.
Kline had this to say about Covers in a press release: “Whenever I’m really excited about a song I want to learn it, and it becomes the first thing I play every time I pick up an instrument. These are all songs by people I know and have seen perform a lot and have been inspired by. I recorded these covers last winter in my bedroom.”
