Friendly Fires Share Video for “Love Like Waves”

New Single Out Now

May 30, 2018 Friendly Fires

It’s been seven long years since Pala, the sophomore album by London dance-rock trio Friendly Fires, but last month returned with a brand new single, “Love Like Waves,” which was one of our Songs of the Week. Now the danceable song has an equally upbeat video. Giorgio Testi (Savages, Gorillaz, London Grammar) directed the clip, which was shot on the Italian island of Favignana and features island locals intercut with the band performing the song at an outdoor bar. Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming festival dates.

There’s no word on their third album, but this could be the first single from it or just a standalone track. Friendly Fires made a splash with their 2008-released self-titled debut album, which was fueled by the singles “Paris” and “Jump in the Pool” and was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Revisit our early 2008 interview with Friendly Fires, back when they were largely unknown.
