Fujiya and Miyagi release new song, “Different Blades From The Same Pair Of Scissors”
Track clocks in at 37 minutes
Sep 07, 2011 Fujiya & Miyagi
It’s been awhile since we last heard from Fujiya and Miyagi but the band recently announced the release of their stand-alone song, “Different Blades From The Same Pair Of Scissors.” The track, originally intended for the Nike running series, is a 37-minute long krautrock tune inspired soundtrack that will keep up the pace with any workout. Synth-man Steve Lewis said via press release, “Each part of the recording had a specific time restraint laid out in the brief. The restrictions enabled us to approach the music writing in a different way with less emphasis on traditional song structures and more emphasis on the rhythm.”
The song is available though the band’s own label, Strange Tongues, and available for purchase here. Their latest album; Ventriloquzzing is available via Full Time Hobby.

I first learned about this song after it was featured in season 5 of BoJack Horseman, the cartoon show! It’s such a good song, I’m obsessed with this song and the music video that reminds me of the plastic blades I used on every flight! Every time the music video plays as an ad I always watch it and never skip it! She has a strange appeal, don’t get me wrong: she’s attractive of course, very feminine but when she rocks the guitar, she combines a unique blend of femininity and masculinity, if that makes sense. Love her music, especially her last album.
