July 26 in Carrboro, NC
Jun 08, 2015 Future Islands
As we previously reported last week, Future Islands have special plans for their 1,000th show. It’ll take place July 26 in Carrboro, NC at Carrboro Town Commons (301 W Main Street, Carrboro, NC 27510). Now they have announced some special guests who will be joining them: Dan Deacon, Ed Schraders Music Beat, Valient Thorr, and Lonnie Walker.
Future Islands have also released a statement about the show: “Ever since our first show at a house party in Greenville, NC back on February 12, 2006, we’ve kept a detailed tour history that lists every show we’ve ever played. On July 26 of this year, we will play our 1000th show as Future Islands. For this special show, we’ll return to North Carolina, the state that we’ve played the most through the years (150+ shows). The show will be at the Carrboro Commons in Carrboro, NC. We hope you’ll join us for this milestone show!”
Visit the microsite for the show (www.fi1000.com) for info on how to get tickets, which are on sale now.
The band may have been based in Baltimore for awhile now, but they formed in North Carolina. Read our 2014 cover story article on Future Islands and watch the video for “Seasons (Waiting on You)” below.
