George Michael B-side “Fantasy” Gets Reworked by Nile Rodgers as a Posthumous New Track
To Appear on Reissue of Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, Due Out October 20 via Sony Music

George Michael passed away last December and when music legends die their musical vaults tend to get opened. Nile Rodgers, an icon in his own right, has taken one of Michael’s lesser known songs, a B-side from 1990 that was originally intended for his Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 album, and reworked it. Although, in all fairness, the Chic frontman and producer was contacted by Michael prior to his death last year to remix the track. The new version will appear on a reissue of Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, which will include Michael’s MTV Unplugged performance and is due out October 20 via Sony Music. Listen below (followed by the original, which also appeared on a 2011 reissue of Faith) via the BBC.
Rodgers posted on Twitter about the remix, in response to fans that had mixed emotions about Michael’s work being reworked after his death. Read his tweets below too.
You SHOULD have mixed feelings. No one’s heart was dragged through emotional ambiguity more than mine.Tears, uncertainty, happiness & #LOVE https://t.co/8cX4efAX1o

This process was extremely emotional for me. We were such massive fans of each other’s work. #Christmas2016 was very sad. https://t.co/u2pNW7tEzM
