Grizzly Bear Confirmed For Twilight: New Moon Soundtrack
Joins Death Cab For Cutie, Thom Yorke, and Bon Iver in Vampire Coven
Sep 17, 2009
Grizzly Bear
Hey have you heard about this Twilight thing? Apparently it’s all the rage in indie rock these days. As we previously reported Thom Yorke, Death Cab for Cutie, and Bon Iver have all penned original songs for the soundtrack to upcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon. Today, another name was added to the list—Under the Radar Anticipated Albums of 2009 cover artist, Grizzly Bear.
As reported by Newyorktimes.com, New Moon music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas attributes the soundtrack’s tonal shift from its predecessor’s Linkin Park and Mutemath-filled soundtrack to a tonal shift in the film. Says Patsavas, “This is a much more somber movie than Twilight…so the artists that are going to make up the soundtrack reflect that longing…. This soundtrack definitely feels a bit more indie than the last one.”
Regardless of the film’s outcome, we’re just happy to have a vampire soundtrack that doesn’t suck. Full soundtrack details will be released Friday.
