Super Furry Animals frontman, one-half of Neon Neon, and solo artist Gruff Rhys has been talking about his latest one-man effort, Hotel Shampoo, for months now. Yet for all the antics and anecdotes surrounding his third full-length, including leaked MP3s, music videos, and even a hotel crafted from shampoo bottles, one thing was missing—a North American release date.

Today, Rhys announced that he has finally booked a North American release date for Hotel Shampoo: May 3 via Witchita Recordings. It’s still a pretty long wait, considering Hotel Shampoo hits shelves in the U.K. next week (Feb. 14), but it’s better than no release at all.

The Hotel Shampoo album news coincides with the debut of new single “Sensations in the Dark,” the video of which premiered today on Pitchfork. Check out the Peter Gray-directed video below, followed by Rhys’ winter-spring tour throughout Europe.
