GUM is the solo project of Jay Watson, who’s a member of both Tame Impala and POND. The Australian psych-pop musician released a new GUM album, The Underdog, back in April. Now he has shared a video for “Couldn’t See Past My Ego.” Sam Kristofski directed the video, which finds GUM out in nature. Watch it below.
In a press release Kristofski says the video was “shot on the West Coast North Island of New Zealand using 35mm Fuji Film. The concept never really came to us, we started filming because Jay only had a small window and the sun was setting, this is what happened. After we finished shooting we all had a sauna and knew we had filmed something special.”
The album is the follow-up to 2016’s Flash in the Pan, 2015’s Glamorous Damage, and 2014’s Delorean Highway.
