Here We Go Magic Shares Mysterious “Be Small” Video
Be Small Out Now via Secretly Canadian
Nov 05, 2015
Here We Go Magic
Here We Go Magic released their new album, Be Small, last month via Secretly Canadian. Now they have shared a video for the album’s title track. The mysterious clip follows a potential modern day female grim reaper as she wanders around Hudson, New York. Watch it below.
Here We Go Magic frontman Luke Temple commented on the song’s meaning in a press release: “Be small rather than big, it seems to be the opposite message from what we’ve been taught our whole lives. If we don’t adopt a sense of humbleness and gratitude within our environment we will need to be put in our place. There is no room for the loud mouth anymore. He either needs to learn to simmer down or he needs a time out.”
Previously Here We Go Magic shared the video for Be Small‘s first single, “Falling,” the audio for “Ordinary Feeling,” and the video for “Tokyo London U.S. Korea.”
Be Small is the band’s first full-length since 2012’s Nigel Godrich-produced A Different Ship, although in 2013 frontman Luke Temple released a great (and criminally underappreciated) solo album, Good Mood Fool. Be Small, as the title suggests, finds the band scaling back; self-producing, self-recording, and mixing the album themselves. The band, which at one point was a five-piece, is now a duo featuring Temple and Michael Bloch.
Check out the video below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates. Read our review of Be Small. (Also read our 2013 interview with Temple.)
