Hooray For Earth’s Noel Heroux Forms Mass Gothic, Signs to Sub Pop
Debut Album Due Out Next Year, To Play CMJ

Mass Gothic
Back in November 2014 Hooray For Earth announced their breakup and played their last ever show and then in December released one last song. The band started out as the project of Noel Heroux, but grew into a band. They released two album’s, including 2014’s excellent second album, Racy, which was somewhat criminally overlooked (but we at Under the Radar showed our appreciation for it with a positive review and two-page article in our print magazine). Now Heroux has announced a new project, Mass Gothic, and has signed to the venerable indie label Sub Pop.
Mass Gothic’s debut album will be out in 2016 and the band will make its live debut at CMJ Music Marathon in New York City this October. While Heroux will be the main creative force behind Mass Gothic, in the studio and live he will be backed by a band.
