Hot Chip have been covering Bruce Springsteen’s classic “Dancing in the Dark” (from Born in the U.S.A.) at live shows recently. Now they have released a video for a studio version of the song. Towards the end the track seamlessly morphs into a cover of LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends,” so it’s kind of an LCD Soundsystem/Springsteen mash-up. The Keiran Evans-directed video combines Super 8 live footage of the band performing at Webster Hall in New York City with clips from 1980’s TV shows and dating videos. The cover will be included on a new Dancing in the Dark EP that is due out this Friday via Domino.

The Dancing in the Dark EP will also include a RAK remix of “Cry For You” and remixes of Huarache Lights by both Soulwax and A/Jus/Ted. You can also stream the previously shared Soulwax remix below. Hot Chip’s latest album, Why Make Sense?, came out back in May via Domino and the band are also releasing a deluxe edition of that this Friday, which includes the Separate EP of four bonus tracks. The tracklistings for both are below too, followed by the band’s tour dates.
