Trip-hop pioneer Tricky has remixed British political punks IDLES, reworking “Colossus” from the band’s acclaimed 2018 album Joy as an Act of Resistance. The remix is featured on a new compilation on Tricky’s own False Idols label, Test of Time, featuring tracks handpicked by Tricky. Most of the other artists on the compilation are unsigned artists from across the globe. Test of Time will be out on vinyl August 30, with an expanded digital edition featuring four extra tracks. IDLES recently released a new 7-inch single, “Mercedes Marxist,” which was recorded at the same time as the last album. The A-side was previously shared in May. Then in early August when single was out they digitally released the B-side, “I Dream Guillotine,” and also shared a video for “Mercedes Marxist.”

Joy as an Act of Resistance has been nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize.
