Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey Face Off in Trailer for Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower”

The long-in-the-works movie adaptation of Stephen King’s beloved book series The Dark Tower is finally coming out on August 4 and now we have been treated to its first trailer. The science fiction/fantasy/western features an 11-year-old boy (Jake Chambers, played by Tom Taylor) who is transported to a post-apocalyptic dimension called Mid-World where he encounters a Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), who’s on a quest to reach the Dark Tower and stop evil sorcerer Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey). Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel, who wrote/directed A Royal Affair, co-writes and directs. Watch the trailer below.
