On March 15 Under the Radar will host the third of three free SXSW day parties. Leading up to the event we’re letting you know about each artist playing. Today we’re spotlighting IO Echo. In a previous post we gave you the basic party details of the party: The party happens from 12:00-6:00 PM at the Flamingo Cantina at 6th and Red River (515 E. 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701). All events are free and open to the public—no RSVPs or badges are required. Come early for free beer courtesy of Sapporo. SHUREand MailChimp are also sponsoring the event. Polyvinyl is also sponsoring the day.

Los Angeles duo IO Echo may traffic in doom and gloom, but their debut full-length Ministry of Love (due out April 2 via IAMSOUND) is a pastel wonderland filled with Japanese Koto harps, Chinese violins, and good ol’ fashioned blasts of rock guitars. Check out a selection of tracks below. IO Echo will take the stage Friday, March 15, at 2:25 PM.
