A new behind-the-scenes video documenting the recent goings on of Tenacious D (aka Jack Black and Kyle Gass) teases a collaboration with Jack White. The video is fittingly titled Jack Gray, although it’s unclear if that will actually be the name of a project. More likely is that Tenacious D have recorded a single for White’s Third Man label with a little help from White himself. In the video Black and Gass visit the Third Man headquarters in Nashville to get a tour and do a photo shoot and then head to White’s house to record a song. “This is a legendary collab,” Black says in the video. “Everyone’s been waiting for it. Now it’s here.” To which Gass sings Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” mixed with “Bad.” Watch the video below.

White released a new solo album, Boarding House Reach, in 2018 via Third Man and Columbia. His band The Raconteurs released a new album, Help Us Stranger, back in June via Third Man (stream it here). Tenacious D’s last album was 2018’s Post-Apocalypto.
