Jack White (of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather) is releasing Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016, an album of rare and unreleased acoustic recordings stretching across his career, on September 9 via Third Man/XL. When the collection was announced White shared a previously unreleased White Stripes song, “City Lights.” Now he has shared a previously unreleased acoustic mix of The Raconteurs’ “Carolina Drama.” The original was found on the band’s 2008 album Consolers of the Lonely. The acoustic version still sounds plenty full, with backing vocals and the like. Listen below.
Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016 collects “26 acoustic songs from throughout White’s wide-ranging musical career, spanning album tracks, B-sides, remixes, alternate versions, and previously unreleased tracks.” The album is arranged in chronological order.
