James Blake is the winner of the Barclaycard Mercury Prize for his sophomore album, Overgrown. (Although presenter Lauren Laverne accidently introduced the singer as James Blunt…doh!)

The prize was announced at a ceremony last night in London, England. He beat out David Bowie, Savages, Disclosure, Laura Marling, and more for the honor. Check out Blake’s stiff competition below. You can also revisit out our interview with the singer/songwriter from earlier this year here.

Laura Mvula – Sing To The Moon

Savages – Silence Yourself

Disclosure – Settle

Rudimental – Home

Jon Hopkins – Immunity

Foals – Holy Fire

Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg

Arctic Monkeys – AM

Villagers – Awayland

Laura Marling – Once I was An Eagle

David Bowie – The Next Day

James Blake – Overgrown
