Beloved British veterans James released a new EP, Better Than That, back in May, and are releasing a new album, Living in Extraordinary Times, on August 3. Now they have shared a video for “Coming Home (Pt.2).” The song is about a father missing his daughter because he’s on the road a lot (perhaps it’s autobiographical on frontman Tim Booth’s part?) and the video intercuts Booth singing the song in a hotel room while a little girl is in her bedroom. Leif Tilden directs. Watch it below.
Previously we posted “HANK” from Living in Extraordinary Times, as well as the band’s performance of “Better Than That” on Later… with Jools Holland (the song is featured on both the recent EP and the upcoming album).
The album is the follow-up to 2016’s Girl At the End of the World. Charlie Andrew and Beni Giles produced Living in Extraordinary Times, which features Brian Eno on one track.
Tim Booth had this to say about the album in a previous press release: “We knew something was up when Leicester city won the league then Brexit, then Trump. It is as if we’d slipped into an alternate reality, a Philip K Dick reality. We are living in extraordinary times.”
