Jarvis Cocker Announces British Tour Dates Featuring New Songs
Is Cocker Prepping His First Album in Nine Years?
Mar 13, 2018 Pulp
Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker has announced some new British tour dates via Instagram. A press release says “most of the songs are new but some will be familiar,” hinting at a new solo album from Cocker. It’s been nine years since Further Complications, his last solo album (which followed Jarvis, his 2006 solo debut), so he’s due for a new album. Although last year he teamed up with Chilly Gonzales for a collaborative concept album, Room 29, inspired by room 29 in the iconic Hollywood hotel Château Marmont, which has had many famous guests (the hotel opened in 1929). Last year Cocker also guested on “Century,” the standout track on Feist‘s last album, Pleasure. In December he also teamed up with Iggy Pop to cover the Nick Cave classic “Red Right Hand” for the TV show Peaky Blinders.
Cocker’s band will feature Serafina Steer on harp and keyboards, Emma Smith on violin, Andrew McKinney on bass, and Adam Betts (Three Trapped Tigers) on drums.
