Jarvis Cocker Pens Songs for Russell Brand’s Upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall Spin-off

Jarvis Cocker—formerly of Pulp and more recently a solo artist and the curator of a performance exhibit in Paris—has dipped his pen into yet another inkwell (don’t be gross, please). Get Him to the Greek is the upcoming movie spin-off of director Nicholas Stoller’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall and it boasts three songs written exclusively by Cocker for Russell Brand’s rock star character, Aldous Snow.
According to this bit on Billboard.com and a blurb on Stereogum, the movie is due out 2010 and also features Jonah Hill and Rose Byrne.
As for his other endeavors, Cocker has plans to take his Paris performance experiment/exhibit to London sometime in November, but no details are available yet. And while many an offer has been turned down, it seems he’s also not ruled out the possibility of a Pulp reunion. As he told Billboard, “I better decide for sure pretty soon, because otherwise, I’ll be too old.”
