Jehnny Beth has shared a new song, “Obsession,” which is from her upcoming album, You Heartbreaker, You, due out August 29 via Fiction. She’s also announced an EU/UK tour. Listen to the new single and check out her new tour dates below.

“Obsession” follows the lead single “Broken Rib,” released last month. This will be Beth’s second solo LP and follows her collaboration with Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, Utopian Ashes, released in 2021. She’s also a member of Savages, who have been inactive in recent years. “Obsession” was made alongside long-time collaborator Johnny Hostile. Beth

Beth spoke on the new track in a press release. “‘Obsession’ is the first song Johnny and I wrote together for this album. The lyrics ‘you heartbreaker, you’ gave the title to the album but, more than that, the song gave the album its tone. It is probably one of the most detailed tracks on the record. The song obviously deals with the subject of primal obsession. It has this spiralling repetitive tension to the point of explosion, going from a whispered confession to a gnarly scream in the blink of an eye, which was fun to make—imagine Tricky and Jonathan Davis making a song with Adam Jones from Tool! In my head anyway.”

Beth embarks on a EU/UK tour in October and will make appearances DJing at Glastonbury June 28th and supporting Queens of the Stone Age in August.
