Jessie Ware Shares Film Noir-Influenced “Midnight” Video

The Second Part of a Two-Party Story

Jessie Ware shared a brand new song, “Midnight,” last week. It was our #1 Song of the Week. Now she has shared a video for “Midnight.” Tom Beard directed the video, which was filmed on the Spanish island of Mallorca and which a press release says channels European film noir. It intercuts shots of Ware being followed on city streets at night with brief flashes of a body underwater. If it all doesn’t quite add up, that might because this is the second part of a two-part story (part one is promised soon). “We shot from 1am until the sun came up and the video was so much fun to make,” Ware said in a press release.

Watch it below.

“Midnight” is the first taste of her third album, which has yet to be officially announced. Ware’s last album, sophomore effort Tough Love, was released in 2014 via PMR/Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope. Since then she’s had a baby, which partly explains the gap between albums. In May 2016 Ware shared the new song, “Till the End,” which was written for the soundtrack to the film, Me Before You.
