She’s dated Jeff Buckley, backed Rufus Wainwright, and dueted with Antony—but on January 17, it’s the Joan Wasswer show as the New York songstress releases her fourth full-length, The Deep Field, under the name Joan as Policewoman. Check out the video for first, surprisingly dancey single “The Magic” below. Says Wasser via press release of the cut, “The Magic is about how crazy your head can get when you begin worrying about the future, about the past, about not getting what you want or not getting enough of it…and once that worry starts it can turn into some serious psychic bad trip!”

2nd- Brighton Komedia

Joan as Police Woman’s “The Magic” is my Swell Tune today:

Sounds like Stevie Wonder circa 1973 is back. And he’s a white lady.
