Joanna Newsom and Jim James Featured on New Roots Album
Release Date TBD
Apr 23, 2010
Jim James
As reported by Entertainment Weekly The Roots’ (aka coolest late night show house band ever) new album How I Got Over will feature a few familiar faces—Joanna Newsom and Monsters of Folk‘s Jim James.
While Newsom’s contribution is a sample from Milk-Eyed Mender‘s “The Book of Right On,” EW goes on to confirm that the indie harpist has recorded new vocals. (A relief, no doubt, for those who found her earlier work too grating.) Meanwhile The Roots are reworking Monsters of Folk’s track “Dear God (Sincerely M.O.F.)” with James providing fresh vocals as well.
No news yet on a release date.
