Johnny Marr has shared a new song, “The Priest,” via a video for the song. It’s a spoken word track featuring British actress Maxine Peake and it tackles homelessness. Marr co-directed the video, which features English actress Molly Windsor as she plays the part of a homeless girl while mouthing the lyrics. Watch it below via The Guardian. “You can’t avoid it in Manchester,” Marr said to The Guardian regarding homelessness. “It touched us both.”
Marr’s last album, Playland, came out in 2014.
