José González has announced some March 2016 tour dates in which he will be backed by the chamber sextet yMusic. He has also shared a live video of him performing “Open Book” with yMusic in the summer of 2014 when they did a collaborative show together at Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors festival in Damrosch Park. The song is taken from González’s Vestiges & Claws, released earlier this year via Mute. The tour dates and video are both below.
“After a year of touring with a band focused on percussion and vocals I look forward to playing many of the same songs in a different style,” said González in a press release. “I’m very excited to go on tour with yMusic! I love their setup and taste in arrangements, being six super talented musicians playing strings, flute, clarinet and trumpet, it feels like it opens us up from sounding energetic and avant-garde to classic and delicate.”
