Julia Jacklin Shares a Video for the New Song “Body”
New Album Due Out Early Next Year via Polyvinyl

Australian singer/songwriter Julia Jacklin has shared a new song, “Body,” via a video for the track. Jacklin co-directed the video with Nick Mckk and it features her driving out into the Australian wilderness. Jacklin released her debut album, Don’t Let the Kids Win, on Polyvinyl in 2016. A press release promises that her sophomore album is due out early next year on Polyvinyl and this is presumably the first taste of that, but right now it’s just a standalone single. Listen below, followed by Jacklin’s upcoming tour dates.
Jacklin had this to say about the video in a press release: “Nick and I drove out to the Hay Plain which is one of my favorite parts of Australia and filmed this clip. We spent about 14 hours in the car, jumping out when something looked beautiful. Whenever I listened to this song I knew the clip had to be a driving one, destination unknown. The song speaks for itself I think but I’d say it’s just a very long and exaggerated sigh. Born from feelings of powerlessness when it comes to the impossible task of representing yourself the way you think is right; personally and professionally. When you feel like everything is for the taking no matter what you do.”
This past summer Jacklin released another album as part of the trio Phantastic Ferniture. Their self-titled album came out via Polyvinyl.
