Blonde Redhead vocalist Kazu Makino previously announced her debut solo album, Adult Baby, simply under the name KAZU, and shared its first single, “Salty,” via a video for the song. Now she has shared a second song from the album, “Meo,” as well as announcing the album’s details and sharing a trailer for Adult Baby, since it’s also a visual album. Adult Baby is due out on September 13 via her own label, also named Adult Baby, that will be distributed by !K7. Below is the album’s tracklist and cover art, above is the artwork for the “Meo” single.

Eva Michon directed the accompanying film, which was shot on Elba an island in the Tyrrhenian sea off Tuscany. A press release points out it’s where Napoleon was once exiled and is also where Makino is “resolved to spend much of her life.”

Makino lives there part of the time (splitting her time with New York City). Adult Baby was recorded in New York, Berlin, and Milan. It features the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mauro Refosco (Atoms for Peace, Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Byrne), and Ian Chang (Son Lux, Landlady). Makino co-produced the album with Sam Griffin Owen

In a previous press release Makino had this to say about the album’s title and her label name: “The title came to me when an old friend told me about the existence of so-called ‘adult baby club,’ frequented by powerful men who go there to be treated like small children. This discovery struck me, perhaps because I am convinced that in a way, we are all adult babies, that many people feel that way inside and that they identify with this expression. Each in his own way: Adult Baby is a title that can be taken in many ways; some will think it curious, others erotic, others still strange or tender: it all depends on how you see it.”
