Kelly Lee Owens is a promising new electronic music artist from London. Back in March she released her self-titled debut album via Smalltown Supersound. It includes the single “Anxi,” which features Jenny Hval. Now she has shared a video for “Throwing Lines” and announced her first ever North American tour. Kasper Häggström directed the video, which features cinematography by Kristian Jaran Engelsen, and the joke of it is that it was supposedly filmed by two overeager Scandinavian fans without Owens’ knowledge and then submitted to her. “Nobody turns down a free music video,” one of them says. Watch it below, followed by her tour dates.
Owens had this to say about the video in a press release: “This is one of the poppiest tracks on my record and it could have had a showy video to match, but it feels good to take the piss instead - out of myself and that world.”
