King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Release Their Fifth and Final Album of 2017
Dec 31, 2017
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
They did it, they really did it! Prolific Melbourne psych-rock adventurers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard had already stated their intentions to release five albums this year and they have already released four: Flying Microtonal Banana in February, Murder of the Universe in June, Sketches of Brunswick East (which features Los Angeles’ Mild High Club) in August, and Polygondwanaland in November, all via ATO. Now on New Year’s Eve they have made good on their promise and released their fifth and final album of 2017, Gumboot Soup. It can be streamed below.
Gumboot Soup features four songs they’ve recently shared: “All Is Known,” “Beginner’s Luck,” “Greenhouse Heat Death,” and “The Last Oasis.” Let’s hope the band can now take a much-needed break. But don’t be surprised if they announce their intentions to release six albums in 2018.
