Kristin Kontrol Announces Tour Dates, Including Solo Shows and Dates with Garbage
X-Communicate Due Out This Friday via Sub Pop
May 25, 2016 Kristin Kontrol
Dum Dum Girls frontwoman/main creative force Dee Dee previously announced a new solo project called Kristin Kontrol. Dee Dee’s real name is Kristin Welchez, hence the name of her new project, and Kristin Kontrol’s debut album, X-Communicate, is due out this Friday, May 27, via Sub Pop. Now she’s announced some June tour dates in support of the album. She will also be opening for Garbage on their July dates. Her full touring schedule is below.
Previously Kristin Kontrol had shared album title track “X-Communicate” along with “Show Me” and ”(Don’t) Wannabe” (which you can hear below again). She also took part in Neon Indian and friends’ cover of Prince’s “Pop Life,” which we posted earlier this week.
Dum Dum Girls’ excellent third album, Too True, was released in 2014. Read our 2014 interview with Welchez about that album.
Also, Kristin Kontrol is interviewed in our May/June print magazine issue. She takes part in our The End feature about endings and death.
