Lanterns on the Lake
Early next year UK symphonic pop ensemble Lanterns on the Lake will release their sophomore album Until the Colours Run. ”For me the album is also bursting with a huge amount of colour and life that reaches out from the darkness,” says singer/lyricist Hazel Wilde in a press release. “[I have one] lyric, ‘so we’ll drink and we’ll sing on the breadline.’ It almost celebrates the feeling of there being nothing left to lose whilst we made the record. It feels like there is a story that runs through the songs, a personal journey through modern life - hope, despair, love and desperate times.” While the record is not due out until Jan 14 via PIAS / Bella Union, the band has shared the first piece of the effort with an beautifully animated music video for the LP’s title track. You can scroll below the album’s tracklist to watch the visual, which follows a young girl who travels the stars and fights off a magical octupus using winged elephants to save her homeworld (no, really).

January 2014? Everywhere else the album is listed as being released either September 9, 2013 or October 7, 2013. If this was written two days ago, where is this date coming from?
