British duo Let’s Eat Grandma (Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth) are releasing a new album, I’m All Ears, on June 29 via Transgressive. Now they have shared another song from the album, “Ava.” They have also announced some new North American tour dates. Check out the song and tour dates below.
A press release says that Hollingworth’s vocal on “Ava” was recorded in one take, that it features Walton on piano, and that the song deals with “matters of mental health, struggle, moments of clarity.”
As Hollingworth puts it in the press release: “The realization as you get older that some things are more complicated, and from the outside looking at a person you can’t always see how difficult some problems are to solve.”
Previously they shared three songs from I’m All Ears, “Hot Pink,” “Falling Into Me” (which made it to #3 on our Songs of the Week list), and “It’s Not Just Me” (which was shared via a video and also made our Songs of the Week list). I’m All Ears is the band’s sophomore album and the follow-up to their 2016 debut, I, Gemini. The album features production from David Wrench (The xx, Frank Ocean, Caribou), SOPHIE, and The Horrors’ frontman Faris Badwan.
