Former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher released his debut solo album, As You Were, last October via Warner Bros. Now he has announced some North American tour dates for this summer and they feature support from Richard Ashcroft of The Verve. Both Oasis and The Verve were leading lights of the mid-‘90s Britpop movement and both were bands that broke through into the American mainstream in a way that many of their Britpop contemporaries were unable to. The two bands have a friendly history together and “Cast No Shadow,” from Oasis’ classic 1995 sophomore album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory, was written by Liam’s brother Noel Gallagher about Ashcroft. The dates are below, followed by “Cast No Shadow” and other videos from both artists (including The Verve’s biggest hit, “Bittersweet Symphony”).

The Verve split up for the third and so far final time in 2008 and Ashcroft’s last solo album, These People, was released in 2016. Oasis broke-up in 2009.
