At the end of the month Andrew Bird will release Hands of Glory, a companion piece to the artist’s latest full-length Break It Yourself. Recorded with Bird’s full backing band, all playing acoustic instruments, the effort features covers of the Carter Family, the Handsome Family, and several others, including a rendition of Townes Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You,” which has subsequently become available to stream online.
