Listen: Andrew Bird - “Roma Fade”
Are You Serious Due Out April 1 via Loma Vista

Andrew Bird is releasing his new album, Are You Serious, on April 1 via his new label, Loma Vista. Previously he shared its first single, “Capsized,” which he also performed on Conan, and “Left Handed Kisses,” his collaboration with Fiona Apple. Now Bird has shared another song from the record, “Roma Fade.” Listen below.
Bird commented on the song in a press release: “‘Roma Fade’ is about the wordless dialogue between the watcher and the watched and the fine line between romance and creepiness. In this song, ‘she’ is a fortress of solitude, yet the observer can still affect her with his gaze. Whether the attention is welcome or not, something between them has changed. Notice how the song shifts from third person to first person near the end and it’s actually the observer who has transformed.”
Deluxe editions of Are You Serious include two bonus tracks and there is a deluxe box set version that includes a 7-inch, as well as a 10-inch entitled Are We Not Burning? The Devolution of Capsized that includes four bonus tracks and a Sound City version of “Capsized.” Additionally, he has a bunch of tour dates in the offering and $1 for every ticket sold is donated to Everytown for Gun Violence, “an organization that works to end gun violence to build safer communities.” The list of dates is below.
