Father John Misty
The strange Adult Swim animated comedy Squidbillies returns for a new season this Sunday, July 10, at 11:30 PM EST. As they’ve done in the past, this season they are having different musicians covering the opening theme for each episode. The first one to do it this season is Father John Misty (aka Josh Tillman) and you can hear his version below, followed by the original. Also covering the theme this year will be Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten, The B-52s, and others.
Father John Misty’s excellent February 2015-released sophomore album, I Love You, Honeybear, was Under the Radar’s #1 album of 2015. Consequently, Father John Misty was on the cover of our Best of 2015 print issue and you can read that cover story article here. Also read our earlier 2015 print article on Father John Misty and our earlier 2015 bonus Q&A with Tillman (also read our 2012 interview with him).
