Listen: Father John Misty Shares Politically-Charged New Song - “Holy Hell”
"The world won't end unless we want it to."
Nov 21, 2016 Father John Misty Photography by Pal Hansen (for Under the Radar)
Father John Misty has shared a brand new song, “Holy Hell.” The piano-ballad seems to be commenting on the current political climate and the media coverage of the election, referring to the “highly effective rhetoric” and the “perverts who get off on it.” But the song ends somewhat hopefully (“The world won’t end unless we want it to/There’s no one in control/And it’s our life to choose”). Listen below.
Father John Misty’s excellent February 2015-released sophomore album, I Love You, Honeybear, was Under the Radar’s #1 album of 2015. Consequently, Father John Misty was on the cover of our Best of 2015 print issue and you can read that cover story article here.
