Scotland’s Franz Ferdinand have shared a brand new song, “Demagogue,” that is a clear statement against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The song is part of the “30 Days, 30 Songs” anti-Donald Trump campaign put together by author/publisher Dave Eggers and Death Cab for Cutie manager Jordan Kurland. The project will feature one song a day until election day, launched with Death Cab for Cutie’s anti-Trump song “Million Dollar Loan,” and includes yesterday’s Jim James video for “Same Old Lie.” The Franz Ferdinand song seems to have been written recently, as its lyrics include the choice line: “His pussy grabbing fingers won’t let go of me now.” It’s the band’s first song since the departure of founding guitarist Nick McCarthy.
