American Laundromat Records are releasing Say Yes! A Tribute to Elliott Smith on October 15. The Elliott Smith tribute album will feature newly recorded covers of Smith’s songs by Amanda Palmer, Jesu/Sun Kil Moon, Waxahatchee, Lou Barlow, Adam Franklin of Swervedriver, Tanya Donelly, and others. Previously we’ve heard Yuck‘s cover of “Bled White” and Julien Baker‘s cover of “Ballad of Big Nothing.” Now here’s a cover of “Waltz #2 (XO)”(from 1998’s XO) by J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. Listen below.
Dinosaur Jr. released a new album, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, earlier this year via Jagjaguwar. Read our 2014 joint interview between Dinosaur Jr.‘s J Mascis and The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus.
Also, Under the Radar conducted the last ever interview and photo-shoot with Smith before his passing and you can read that here.
