Listen: Jack White Writes Theme Song for Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s New Variety Show
Maya & Marty Debuts Tonight on NBC
May 31, 2016
Martin Short
Jack White (of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather) has written the instrumental theme song to Maya & Marty, a new variety show starring the somewhat unlikely, but hopefully delightful, pairing of Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. It is the first time White has written music for a TV show and you can stream the results below. It’s described on Soundcloud as a clip from the theme, but you have to wonder if the full version is much longer, being that it’s a TV theme. The show premieres tonight on NBC at 10/9 Central.
White plays drums and wrote and produced the theme. Here’s the full list of players on the track:
Drums: Jack White
Organ: Dean Fertita
Bass: Dominic Davis
Wah Wah Guitar: Lillie Mae Rische
Pedal Steel Guitar: Fats Kaplin
